The Best Just Got Better!! The rallye masters from hell put together a two part rallye with 216 clue/ questions, plus finding 32 houses in one of the historical districts in Mesa.  Have you ever wished that the rallye masters would just lighten up?  I’ll get right to the point, it was not easy.

Exhilarating! Challenging! Fantastic! This ralley started at the New Chandler mall parking lot located at the 101 freeway and Chandler blvd.  From there we ventured through the Williams Field Airport area, then on to a Water Ranch preserve, through a park and ended at the charming Gilbert Historical Museum that had so much interesting history about this precious town.  Lunch was eaten at Streamers, a blast from the past cozy 50’s soda shop and grill (too much food) delicious!!! and very friendly.  Off to ASU’s Research Park and then through the city of Mesa, getting out of our Mercedes to enjoy the wonderful multi level Mesa Southwest Museum.  Never knew how educational this room after room of displays could be.  With all of the 216 clues dealt with, we ended up doing a house hunt in the historical district of Mesa.  Finally dinner at the Lankmark Restaurant with our charming private room and the food was superb, these were the comments heard:

“ The best broiled halibut I have ever eaten”

“ The prime rib just melts in your mouth”

“ The chicken marsala was to die for”

Congratulations to the winners.  Eva and Chuck Stanford, for first place in the morning part of the rallye.  They selected a Mercedes Benz travel case for their prize.  Dick Sharp, Bunny Petersen and friends won the honors for the afternoon quest through the Mesa Southwest Museum and House  hunt.  They choose the Mercedes Benz hazard light.  Bob Yoder and Elaine Petrick finished second in the morning rallye and opted for the car detailing courtesy of Phoenix Motors.  And finally, Dick Sharp, Bunny Petersen and friends snatched another prize for third place in the morning event, this time a Mercedes Benz lumbar pack.  Believe it or not it was a very close race and definitely rewarding.

We’ll be doing it again next year, so keep your calendars open and watch for the announcement in the Stardust newsletter and on our section website.  View additional pictures of the event at the linked photo gallery.

Fun with your friends and your Benz!
