Holiday Brunch another Success

 

 

  On December 1st the Desert Stars held their annual Holiday Brunch at the Orange Tree Golf Resort.  This is the second year we have held the brunch at the Orange Tree and again the resort's staff out did themselves in putting together a  scrumptious champagne buffet.

 

  After everyone was thoroughly stuffed, the traditional raffle was held, with everyone getting a prize.  This year a special raffle was held for a CLK Cabriolet (kid's version), courtesy of the Star Boutique at Schumacher European, Ltd.  Dick Sharp was the lucky winner.

  Valerie Olmstead, our section president, announced our member of the year, Sharon Levinson, for her dedication 

 

as the section's newsletter editor and other section activities.  Sharon was in Australia on vacation so the plaque and traveling trophy will be presented to her later.

  Longtime member Betty Pottorff was celebrating her 83rd birthday on Sunday, so the assembled section sang her "Happy Birthday" wishes.

  Valerie also presented service pins to two members.  Edward Kasmar received his 30th anniversary pin (below), Jean Hillding received her 25th.
